Holland & Henry was formed in 1993 by Chris Holland and Richard Henry, bringing together two partners with significant experience in working for international ‘Big-Four’ accounting firms. Since that time, three additional partners and fifteen more members have been added to our professional staff. Our growth is attributed to our success in obtaining quality clients and in providing quality services.
In 1994, Ronnie Barnhill joined Holland & Henry after resigning his position with the Savannah office of Price Waterhouse. Stewart Bromley and Shannon Brett followed in 1996 by leaving their positions with Price Waterhouse to join the firm. Stewart entered the firm as the third partner, and the name was updated in 1998 to Holland, Henry & Bromley, LLP. Ronnie and Shannon were named partners in 2000 and 2005, respectively. Effective December 1, 2017, the firm’s name was updated to Holland, Bromley, Barnhill & Brett, LLP.
Our mission statement from the beginning has been to provide the same caliber of services that we delivered through international firms to the organizations in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. This objective is brought to mind each time we propose on a new client, as we believe that focusing on this mission will ensure that we remain technically sound in auditing, tax and consulting matters that will impact our clients. Our firm has a strong history of providing audit, tax, financial reporting, litigation support, fraud support, and management advisory services.
J. Richard Henry, CPA (1958-2015)
On January 28, 2015, Richard passed away after a long illness and is greatly missed. As a founding member of our firm, Richard’s vision of strategic growth was a key driver in our success during his twenty one years as a senior partner. We have a huge appreciation for the groundwork that Richard helped develop for our firm and look forward to continuing our growth in the years to come.
Richard graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1980 and enjoyed a successful career with Price Waterhouse before joining Chris Holland in forming Holland & Henry in 1993.
In addition to being an avid hunter and fisherman, Richard served on the advisory board of SunTrust Bank, the advisory council of The Georgia Southern University School of Accountancy, and as Treasurer of The Savannah Technical College Foundation. He was a member of The Isle of Hope United Methodist Church and the Dorchester Hunting Club. Richard is survived by his wife, Jane, and three children, J.R, Jared, and Jordan.
